Evidence-Based Project: Part 1 – Developing a Question

Evidence-based approaches apply the best available information to improve results. When healthcare administrators use evidence to make decisions, it leads to more cost-effective, productive, high-quality, and efficient results.

Throughout this course, you will develop assignments in Modules 2-5 for a culminating Evidence-Based Project slide presentation due in Module 5.

The first step in this process is to identify a healthcare topic – an intervention or program – and a clinical question to address the topic using the evidence-based practice problem-solving approach.

Create a 3-page paper in a Word document for your response. Use APA format.
Create a title page and references page in APA format.
Develop an introduction and conclusion for your three-part paper. These are in addition to the required 3 pages. Use the parts as subheads in the paper.

Step 1. Select
Select a healthcare-related topic of interest on an intervention or program.

Step 2. Research
Conduct preliminary research on the topic.

Step 3. Identify
Identify the parts of a well-designed question using the PICOT framework.

Step 4. Formulate
Formulate a well-defined question that will yield the most relevant and best evidence. You will use this question to guide the remainder of your assignments in this course.

Step 5. Develop
Develop an introduction that specifically describes the background of the topic and your question.

Develop a conclusion explaining why the concern is important to health outcomes and for health leaders.

Step 6. Compile
Compile the information from Steps 1-5 in a paper.
