Other short courses are Calculus for Business as well as SocialScience and Introduction to Statistics. Engaging with educational materials in these courses have enabledme to acquire broad knowledge and classroom experience due to constant interaction with my educators. They have increased my knowledge and passion for pursuing Accounting as a major. As an avid learner, Ihave not only gained experience and knowledge from classroom practices but also from those that takeplace outside. For instance, when I was in high school senior year, I started working at tea station. It led toan opportunity to be a supervisor and manager in the workplace. One of my duties is to help mycolleagues fill the W2 form and manage their working hours, and weekly tips. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time. (350words)People have different definitions of a leader. However, I believe leaders need to have more outstandingworking capabilities than others. A good leader can improve the output of internal personnel and also leadthe teammates to enhance their working capacity. At the same time, internal relationships of your teammust be managed. They have to ensure that team members agree, work together, remain focused on goalattainment. Leaders must set and communicate clear team goals. They should provide a clear roadmapthat guides their followers towards higher goals. When I was in De Anza community college, I joined theChinese Students Society Association (CSSA). We got divided into different departments and I landed inthe activity department. The members got divided into groups of six and given specific tasks to complete. One of the most outstanding role that my team got entailed developing a Chinese new year performancelist. The major challenge arose when one of my team members started complaining that the others wereunderperforming. Some teammates were overlooking their duties and delaying the group. When I learnedabout the situation, I conversed with the member who had complained and those that he had raisedcomplaints about. I learned that one of the team members perceived their duty as heavy while othermembers got none. Based on their feedback, I requested that we meet as a group to reallocate tasks.During the meeting, I reiterated the value of sharing the workload equally and uniting to make ourdepartment stand out. I communicated the essence of redistributing the duties to promote cohesion withinthe group. We had a productive discussion and reached a consensus that we are all equal but havedifferent capabilities. We designed a new work schedule that ensured everyone had a role to perform. Wealso considered each other’s ability when assigning tasks to avoid further complaints. By the end of themeeting, all members responded that they were satisfied. Therefore, it was resolved that individuals canselect or switch roles if they feel comfortable they can complete them. Hence, we managed to remainunited and worked towards achieving our goal.
