Final Project:
The ultimate goal of this project is to provide a forum for students to connect some of the ideas or concepts presented in the course to an organization of which they are a part. In other words, the desire is to make things as relevant as possible with your present work/life situation. (For most, this will mean focusing on your place of employment, but for some it could mean looking at an organization for which you volunteer or have a strong affiliation.) The two textbooks, as well as the weekly research assignments, are intended to serve as a backdrop to this final project, as you are invited to think about certain key areas within your organization and then provide particular recommendations, much like a consultant would, for further investigation or possible action.
This report can be organized or presented in whatever format the student believes would fit best to his/her needs or that of his/her organization, but ultimately the expectation would be to first provide background information on their organization as context and then identify one to three dimensions noted within this course’s outline that are relevant to their organization and which could benefit from some in-depth analysis and recommendations regarding possible next steps moving forward. The key behind the analysis and ‘next steps’ recommendations to your research will be the inclusion of a solid literature review relative to the issues you have opted to address within your report. This will help provide a clearer rationale and logic for the recommendations being made. This final project should be at least 3000 words in length, include a Reference List of at least a dozen credible resources.
