SCOTUS and Affirmative Action

For your Amicus Curiae Brief you must:

Write an introduction in which you outline your beliefs regarding affirmative action and the college admissions. (Its good, bad, too prevalent but generally ok, etc) And explain how you think the court should rule in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard. (this means you need to know something about Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard)

This intro should include 2-3 pieces of SPECIFIC data to support your claims (this means you need to actually do some research) from REPUTABLE sources. 1-2 paragraphs

Provide a close analysis of at least THREE of the FIVE cases the court has heard previously on Affirmative Action and College Admissions in which you
1) summarize that case (the fact pattern and the ruling of the court) and
2) explain why/how this case will help your argument about how the court should rule in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard

3-6 paragraphs

Finally you should conclude by laying out how you think the court will rule in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, including how you believe each justice will vote and why (for the purposes of this exercise, assume Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed and is the 9th justice on the court)
1-2 Paragraphs

All citations must conform to the Chicago Manual of Style, the paper must be written in Times New Roman, size 12 font, 1″ margins and include a title page, and a header with the author last name and page number.
