MAP IT – Vulnerable Populations

 

PROJECT: This project is based on how students utilized the MAP-IT framework to plan and evaluate public health interventions for the vulnerable population to achieve Healthy People (HP) 2020 objectives (http://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/implementing/default.aspx). Each group will effectively identify which vulnerable population for which the group is designing the Program Initiative for and present specific HP 2020 tools and Tool Kits that were utilized in strategizing this project.

MAP-IT Phase 1: Implementing Healthy People (HP) 2020.

Students will explore the topic area overview, topic objectives and data; as well as interventions and evidence-based resources. Students will pay close attention to emerging issues as noted on the group’s chosen topic.

 

Phase 1 will consist of the MAP-IT steps of Mobilize, Assess and Plan. Students will create a PowerPoint Presentation of their project. The presentation will include background on the health problem, local and global statistics, a windshield survey, demographics of the population of interest, information concerning stakeholders, funding, policy and legal issues as well as plans for implementation.
