CASE STUDY

Case One Alex / Alexa is a 23 yr old who is coming to you for therapy and medication management. He is a “wreck “ he says and he cannot hold onto any job for more than a few weeks because he gets so anxious that he has panic attacks and has to hide in the restroom for hours. He then is embarrassed and quits before the boss fires him. He has completed an associate degree at the local community college but did most of the courses on line. He wants to complete a degree in business administration but thinks he should go to real college in person so he can make friends and meet a girlfriend because every girl he meets just wants to get high and then he freaks out about them and does not ever call them again. He has an abusive dad who mocks him and a mother who is silent and just keeps telling him not to aggravate his dad. He has been to the hospital ER 3 times thinking he was having a heart attack but they said it was anxiety and told him to get some help. He is really depressed now and lying in bed a lot and just ruminating about what a hopeless case he is and that he better fix himself soon.

An analysis of the specific therapeutic approach should include the concepts, key ideas, the relationships among the ideas and how this approach can be used in advanced practice. You should also address any hidden assumptions or fallacies in reasoning related to the approach.The paper should address application of the techniques to typical client/patient situations.The paper will be graded on writing style, appropriate language usage; correct grammar; accurate spelling; use of appropriate terminology. Too, the paper should be interesting to read as well as concise. This is a formal paper written in APA style according to the guidelines. Grammar, writing and expository skills are in order and here APA citations are necessary. This is not about summarizing everything under the topic but, presenting a general idea of what the modality focuses on and providing suggestions that may help any patient beyond medication management.
