You will choose a prominent corporation and then each member of the group will write a report about a specific controversy (of your choosing – you do not need to choose the same controversy as your group members) and how it represents a failure of their CSR policies.
Each student will prepare a written report on its CSR policies and describe one of two things:
(1) A case or cases in which there has been a “gap” between its stated CSR policies and its actual practices, or
(2) A case in which its practices are consistent with its CSR policies, but this demonstrates the inadequacy of those policies from an ethical perspective.
In addition to describing the case, you should attempt to diagnose the source or sources of ethical failure. You are not required to prescribe solutions to the problem – think of it as an investigative report rather than a policy proposal.
Your report should be approx. 1500-2000 words.
