Remember:  The individual must be an owner, founder, co-founder, or senior level manager of the venture who is currently involved in the daily operations.

There are two components to the assignment; you must complete all components to earn the 100,000 points.

1)  The interview

2)  The write-up about your conversation

For the interview…

• There is no specific script, your interview should focus on four specific areas (related questions for each section are in Appendix 1 of the instructions):
  1. the entrepreneur before they started the venture
  2. the entrepreneur at the time they started the venture
  3. The entrepreneur as they grew the venture
  4. The entrepreneur today and tomorrow
• The interview does not have to be in-person, it can be via phone, Zoom, etc. (not over email)
• There is no set amount of time you have to spend on the interview, but 30 minutes to 1 hour is a good benchmark as far as being respectful of their time as well as having the opportunity to find out a little more about the opportunities and challenges of “real world” new ventures.

For the write-up…

• This needs to be a 2-3 page double-spaced write-up.
• 1 to 1^1/2 pages should be relating to each of the four sections outlined above (this is NOT a transcript of your conversation)
• 1 to 1^1/2 pages should be relating to how the findings of the interview apply or are meaningful to you i.e., what did you learn or discover that was meaningful for your own plans, your own future?
