The rubric is the guidelines set to receive a good grade upon this assignment; the file “PHI FCA Proposal” is my initial response to the rubric & I would like you to use my proposal and the feedback (listed below) from my professor to complete this assignment.
Based upon your philosophical essay, I will create and handle the creative portion of the assignment.

“This sounds like it will be a cool story.

But, the philosophical aspect of the proposal is undeveloped right now. I would strongly advise you to stick to just one philosophical text. In the essay, you will need to explain in detail both the philosophical issue that has inspired you *and* how your story helps illustrate that idea. Remember, the essay portion of the assignment is only supposed to be 3-5 pages. Of course, if you think you can provide an adequate explanation of ideas from multiple authors in 3-5 pages, you are welcome to give it a shot. ”

Final Creative Project Rubric

For this two part assignment, you will create a work of science fiction and a short essay explicating the philosophical importance of your creative project.The creative aspect of this assignment may take the form of a short story, a storyboard, script or screenplay for a movie, a play, a comic book, a short movie, a detailed description of a video game (including the storyline), a painting or drawing, or something else that you think of (as long as prior permission from the instructor is obtained).The creative work of science fiction that you produce should be, in some way, based on at least some of the philosophy that we have studied so far. You can do this by choosing among the unit questions we will have been discussing and attempting to answer that question by creating a work of science fiction. If you think you can come up with a better question that your sci-fi work would answer, that’s fine too.In addition to creating an original work of science fiction, you are also required to produce a philosophical explication (3-5 pages) of what you have created, describing in as much detail as possible which works of philosophy inspired your sci-fi creation, and what questions you hope that the work of science fiction answers, and which questions it raises. This philosophy essay should examine the philosophical themes present in the work of sci-fi that you created, as well as similar sci-fi works which address similar questions. It should include ideas from both science fiction authors as well as philosophers.The Creative Assignment as a whole is worth 40% of the final grade.At least two weeks before the due date of the Creative Project, a project proposal must be submitted which will be worth 15% of the grade for the Creative Assignment.
