My topic is whether Hammurabi’s code was fair or not.

Please select a topic. Your topic can be anything within Western Civilization prior to the year 1500 A.D.. Note: This is an academic paper and therefore must have a thesis statement. You must make an argument. A descriptive paper will not get the job done. Please find three sources that you believe that you will use in writing your paper. Please note: no non-academic websites are allowed, so you will probably have to go to the library and speak to a librarian. Not to worry, they will be happy to help you. Then write up a bibliography containing these three sources. Any format is acceptable, but there has to be a Note: These sources must all be secondary sources, not primary sources. For example, if you are writing about a story in the Bible, the Bible itself is not one of your sources. You must find three sources written about this story.
What I wrote for my proposal: My topic is whether Hammurabi’s code was fair or not. Hammurabi’s code began over a thousand years ago, but we still use a modified version of it today. It was the foundation of laws and regulations, with consequences behind every violation and crime. Although punishments were worse back then, we have made crimes justifiable by serving a certain amount of jail time or community service. Hammurabi’s code was fair because it showed that for every action, there was a consequence, and considering it was a strict code of law, it enforced the people to obey the rules more.
