Anthropology Interview Assignment

Short Assignment #3  Due Thursday, October 15, by 12 noon

Page length will vary but probably around 3-4 pages, double-spaced.

The paper is worth 8% of your total course grade and will be graded according to the percentages and according to the characteristics indicated below:

1. The first part of your paper will be the cleaned-up transcript of your in-class interview. This will either be on stress or the presidential election (closely related topics, I know!)

 Cleaning up the transcript entails matching it to the video and making sure it is correct (matches what was said) with no garbled or nonsense parts.  (30 points)

2. Write 2 paragraphs.

1. The first paragraph should summarize the most interesting, surprising or powerful moment or moments in the interview. These could be moments that lead to further questions, contradict expectations, or create a vivid picture of the person’s experiences. (35 points)

1. In the second paragraph, reflect on the experience of interviewing. What worked well and what didn’t?  What would you do differently next time?  (35 points)
