Read the Negotiating for Pandas Slides in the presentation section. Your task is to write a strategy for the Executive Director of the San Diego Zoo that will take into consideration the positions of all the parties and hopefully lead to a successful negotiation for a panda exhibit.

Your Essay should make clear the following: 1 / 3 Whether you will be applying the competitive approach or the collaborative approach to negotiating this agreement and why you chose this approach. If you are using the competitive approach: A list of the Assumptions and disclosures the Director and the CWCA should make to each other prior to engaging in the negotiation. If you are using the collaborative approach: A list of the issues that the parties will share with each other prior to engaging in the negotiation and a list of the BATNA for each party.

How you will satisfy the external parties, such as PETA, the US State Department and the Chinese government, including how you will consider their concerns in your negotiation strategy. The terms of the final agreement you think the Executive Director of the San Diego Zoo and the CWCA will reach.

An evaluation of whether or not you think these terms are going to be successful for the period of the panda loan and any areas of concern you predict for the future. Suggestions for future considerations or changes if these concerns pop up.
