The Final Writer’s Report

The Assignment:

To Prepare: Before you begin, read over the following things:

The drafts of your research project
The writer’s reports and process assignments you submitted while working through your research and writing process

These will really help you think about the work you did this quarter.

To Write: The final writer’s report is 600 words or longer. It’s basically a self-assessment of your work in English 128. It’s written as a narrative, and it has just a few parts:

Purpose of English 128: What was this class for? What skills were you meant to learn? What were some of the assignments meant to help you learn or practice?
What you learned about these skills: Tell me about your own progress with these skills. Which ones were already strong before you began the class, and which ones improved? Note: it might be helpful here to
Your Writing and Research Process:

Thinking about the purpose of this class, assess the process you undertook to complete your research project. Think about things like inquiry-based research, recursive research processes, and even time management.
How does your writing and research process appear in your second (final) draft? How did your process change or shape the essay you wrote?
What still needs work: Thinking about these skills, and thinking about the research, reading, writing, and thinking you will do after English 101, which skills would you still like to improve?
