Topic: How to identify opportunities within the business environment.
Learning Goal: To further your understanding of entrepreneurship by critically analyzing two different business opportunities within the chosen industry in short essay 1 and selecting one with the most prospect to you.
Instructions:
Step 1. You should begin by researching and analyzing different business opportunities within your chosen industry. Then selecting two that you think will provide you with the best business opportunities. For example, within the Travel Industry, (a) Online Travel Agency and (b) Organizing Vacation Tour.
Step 2. After selecting the two business opportunities, you should, for each of them, critically analyze its advantages and disadvantages, the present and future performance and its competitiveness in the business environment.
Step 3. With the information obtained in step 1 and step 2, you should write a short essay that demonstrates your mastery of the two business opportunities. Then select one with the most prospects to you (you must defend your choice with facts).

Virtual Solution Services: CleanDesk. LLC
Thanks to the COVID-19 global pandemic, many thoughts of creating a Virtual venture that would thrive in social distancing times came about. I work at Municipal Credit Union (Financial institution). As a Loan Verification and Processing Clerk – this all means I examine credit reports, procure supporting documents, and use judgment (to lend or not to lend), and then escalated to an underwriter for final approval. A person in my work position comes in contact with individuals infected with COVID19 as people forget that being infected does not mean you don’t need to pay bills, and some just plain-oh dealing with members refusing to stay home. Unfortunately, we can’t discriminate who we service. So, I thought, Virtual Member Solutions. A virtual member solution services called- CleanDesk, LLC. Get it! Clean Desk! The Desk that upholds a clean desk policy because it’s Virtual.
“CleanDesk” is a Virtual Solutions Services (VSS) that provides remote office management services. Offering companies (just like the financial institution that I work for) opportunities that are not limited to: saving on overhead expenses, provide a safe environment by keeping social distancing, go green (protect the environment) since it’s virtual, offer virtual loan processing services, data entry, transcription, verification services, customer service live chats and or calls, also offer busy professionals (like my needy boss who delegates as much as she breathes)secretarial services, scheduling services, and much more.
Many professionals need VSS as they love the idea of not having to offer full-time benefits. So that the target market. Yet, I must consider some downsides when conducting this venture. There are about 100 of them right here in New York State so tightening up on skills is a must and offering subscription and freebees here and there, constantly taking course to stay updated, and examine my competitors (strength and weakness), in the name of staying competitive is advisable. At least until, a multi-year contract comes along then, I’m like, Yes! But I still must stay updated.
Another downside is loss of social relationships- this is critical for social reliability. The VSS work is isolating in nature as all the assignments perform remotely. Virtual Solution expert will not have a work environment that employees feel like a part of the company’s bigger picture, I call it the coworker environment. Oh and lets not forget the great measure of distractions: kids, spouses, pets, my most recent Netflix obsession, . Remote workspaces vary, as is their ability to scream “Distractions!”.
But, big but, so are the advantages. Starting a VSS is cost-effective. All VSS needs to get started is a Wi-fi connection and a Computer/Laptop. * “Yes, Dat’s it!” The best part is that and expert can work anywhere. For example, the expert can work from Brazil earning an American salary. Oh, and set their own hours.
VSS need to have strong computer skills. That means proficiency with MS Office, Google Drive, other spreadsheets, email, presentation slide shows, Database management, Social Media, Web, Business Writing, Graphics, and Software skills (e.g., Java, PHP, MySQL, C#), and other advanced computer skills. Staying up to date requires always taking courses and staying in the know to anticipate client needs.

Let’s talk money, VSS charges for the time and labor by the minute. For example, for loan processing, an application is $5.00 as it takes only 10 minutes to complete, or data entry charging .30 cent per word. Some professionals may need their customers to have after-hours services, so the hourly rate would apply to $30 – $40 an hour depending on live chat or picking up phone call. The price chart is available on the website or upon request.
VSS can make about 42 000 a year with basic computer knowledge but 250,000.00 a year with advanced expertise because of the additional side services (like managing Social, creating/managing software, and troubleshooting)

Domestic Cleaning Business: ClearObjects, LLC.
Another business that flashes through my biscuit while COVID19 is the domestic cleaning industry. The oldest one in the book. Good old fashion domestic cleaning business called ClearObjects, LLC. ClearObjects, LLC. may start with a few necessary supplies that can be purchase at the regular grocery store or hardware store for more heavy-duty cleaners. From the top of my head, items needed would be trash bags, buckets, dusters, floor cleaning machines (for all types of floors), bathroom specific cleaners, squeegees, spray bottles. Also, organic, natural, and sustainably Sourced products for those clients who vowed to live eco-friendly. And throw-in liability insurance. That would run about $500 to $1000 Just in case.
ClearObjects, LLC. may jump-start with about $1500.00 to $2000.00 on supplies, including registering it as an LLC. Then, create a presence on social platforms like Handybook.com, Taskrabbit.com, or the like.
Always start small to build clients and earn trust. The target market would be busy professionals looking for someone to bring their homes or apartments up to their standards and or coronavirus free. The ideal target would be long term contract with a few professionals. See the same faces and the same clients.
I would charge $30 to $40 an hour for necessary home cleaning. For heavy-duty cleaning because of supplies and more challenging labor, $80- $100.00 an hour. Depending on the area or items that need extra love. I thought about a charge on the square footage like some business I ran across, but it is not a smart move, and I can expand on that in a later essay.
This industry is not my favorite, but it is a business in the industry.
