1.Is Na-TECC the Key to More Efficient Energy?
2.It is evident the amount of electrical energy that we need nowadays to support the qualityof life that we lead. The Sodium Thermo Electrochemical Converter (Na-TECC),promises efficiency of up to 8% greater than that of any other thermo-electrochemicalconverter that has been used before. The Na-TECC allows oxidized sodium vapor ions toexpand isothermally through its two-stage system, and thus, convert heat into electricity.
3.a.“Theoretically, a device interacting with thermal reservoirs at 1150 K and 550 Kshould operate above 45% efficiency, but actual devices have not surpassedefficiencies of 20%,” (Limia and Yee, 2017).
b.“The temperature drop across each electrolyte in the dual stage device (e.g., ~ 400K) is smaller than the temperature drop across a comparable single stage device(e.g., ~ 600 K),” (Limia and Yee, 2017).
c.“Basically, this machine improves energy efficiency so that lesser heat will leak.That means more savings on electricity,” (8 New Technologies, 2020).
d.“‘A Na-TECC engine could sit in your backyard and use heat from the sun topower an entire house,’ Yee said,” (Becker, 2016).
4.In conclusion, the Sodium Thermo Electrochemical Converter (Na-TECC) could be agreat advance in terms of electricity. This could end up with one of the biggest factors inthe heat-to-electricity conversion, heat loss. In this way we would have a great saving ofelectric energy and greater efficiency. As Yee mentioned, “A Na-TECC engine could sitin your backyard and use heat from the sun to power an entire house,” (Becker, 2020).
