Title Page (5 points)

Do not try to be creative with your title page. Rather, you should follow the style guide explicitly. We will determine your score according to the following criteria:

b) Have you started numbering your paper after the title page? (NOTE: Put page numbers in a header with your last name. Example: Harper-2)

Body with introduction & conclusion (35 points)

Present your argument, including thesis statement, and the evidence to support it fully cited and illustrated. We will determine your score according to the following criteria:

1 Style: Writing & Formatting

a) Is your writing clear and concise?

b) Have you incorporated your illustrations in a manner that is easy for the reader to follow

c) Do all illustrations have captions? (I have the illustrations)

d) Have you accurately placed notes at the foot of each page?

2 Content

a) Have you managed to incorporate all the components of your research in a clearly organized

fashion?

b) Have you made clear the way your evidence is relevant?

c) Do the points of your argument follow one another in logical order? d) Do both your introduction and conclusion synthesize, each in its own way, your argument

rather than summarizing main points?

e) Is your thesis specific? Does it express a clear argument?

Notes (10 points)

You should note all citations with a small superscript number that corresponds to a footnote number as illustrated in the Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition). MS Word will do this automatically when you go to “References” and “Insert Footnote.” We will determine your score according to the following criteria:

Bibliography (10 points)

Be sure to include references for your illustrations either in the captions or in the footnotes, and in the bibliography. If citing images from the internet, use the original source, not the search engine.
