Re: Error in the Cyberbullying Detection Software

As per our previous communications regarding the proposal “Making a Difference at Twitter: Cyberbullying Detection Software” an unexpected turn have arisen. Due to the current pandemic, the completion of the proposal would be delayed by two years, and other purchases of material and tools would be on standby until the budget is approved. The research step has been completed, but the Interpretation stage would be the one affected as mentioned.

NEW TIMELINE

Prior the changes, the implementation, design and research stage would have taken 5, 26, and 8 weeks successively. But with the delay in budget approval, the implementation stage would be 65 weeks, while the other two stages would remain the same. Given that the time is poorly distributed, I have come up with an idea to benefit from this delay to better prior mission and goal.

BENEFIT OF DELAY

Analyzing the chart below compared to the chart above, you can see how we can focus more time on Implementation, design and research. Despite research being completed we can further continue to research on different topics, specially from variety culture to ensure feasibility in our software. Additionally, extending the implementation period we can reach in global scale rather than US only.

MOVING FORWARD

I understand that the delay can be discouraging, but we can move forward and overcome this obstacle. Despite the project being delayed, expenditures will remain relative the same, which means we will have a better product than the previous one. We will commence, research in the upcoming days and continue to expand the software development and capabilities.

This project is one that will make a difference at Twitter and the whole world if fully implemented to its full capacity. Let us take the positive side of the situation despite obstacles. I look forward for your input on the matter. Thank you in advance.
