Tasks
This assignment consists of 2 components:
An interview
A reflection
To complete the interview:
During Module 2’s Discussion, you will work with your peers to brainstorm possible interview questions to use during your case manager interview. You should collect at least 15 questions from this exercise to use during your 30-45-minute interview.
You will reach out to a case manager at a local social service agency and ask if they would be interested in participating in a 30-45-minute phone or Zoom interview with you so you can ask them about their experiences as a case manager. Email them the questions in advance—people tend to like that.
You will complete your interview at an agreed upon time and date with your interviewee.
After the interview, you will write up a 3-4-page summary of what they shared with you. Feel free to use direct quotes, but your paper should not be a transcript of the interview.
NOTE: This is NOT an assignment that can be completed at the last minute. Sometimes it can take weeks to find someone willing to interview, especially during the current pandemic. Emailing a case manager telling them they must help you because it’s due tomorrow or emailing me during Week 10 or 11 saying you just started asking folks but no one is available, will not go over well.
To complete the reflection:
Once you have completed your interview, I’d like you to reflect on the experience by answering the following questions in 1-2 pages:
Did you have any preconceived notions about case management or the case manager before starting the interview? How were they challenge or confirmed throughout this interview? Throughout this class?
How did this overall experience make you feel about case management?
What skills do you think you currently possess that would make you an effective case manager?
What skills would you like to focus on building to become a more effective case manager?
Any other thoughts or reflections on this experience?
Submission Format
You should submit a 4-6-page paper, double-spaced, in Arial 10-point font. Paper should be in proper APA 7th edition format. Interview questions should be in an Appendix at the end of the paper. Title page, reference page, and appendix do not count towards the final page count.
THE ONLY THING IS I DIDNT DO THE INTERVIEW ):
can you try bs this?
