1a) Before this PowerPoint, did you consider yourself to be a good liar – or a good lie detector? What was surprising to you?

1c) Now that we know that lying is much harder to detect than often thought, what are your best recommendations for how professionals (law enforcement, judges, psychologists, etc) approach lying/deception in the future?

2) This lecture discussed investigative psychology.

2a) What were your initial thoughts on investigative psychology? How did this lecture change your mind? (You can reference Criminal Minds, etc – it always comes up!)

2b) If you were an investigative psychologist, how confident would you feel about testifying to court? Why?

2c) Building off of 2b: Is investigative psychology a “worthy” field? Should it be studied and executed despite its flaws, or should psychologists pivot to something more evidence-based?
