Instructions: You will be submitting your final 4-6 page report about your cross-cultural research project here. The objective of this paper is to answer the following (not necessarily in this order):

What was the emic perspective (insider) in answering your question? How did the people from that culture explain this topic or issue?
What was your etic perspective (outsider) in answering your question? What did you see about this topic as an outsider that those who were part of that culture didn’t see? What common themes were brought out between your sources and how do you, as an outsider, interpret them?
What made answering your question difficult or what do you think you need to learn more about to fully understand your issue?
Format: This paper should be written as an essay. It should include proper grammar, academic style and follow all format guidelines for written work listed in the course syllabus. Make sure to use evidence, data and developed argument to make your points. You are welcome to use any citation system you are familiar with in this paper (MLA, APA, etc.) but citation style will not be evaluated as part of your grade. You do, however, need to indicate where the data used came from.

Assessment: The grade for this paper will come from a rubric on Canvas evaluating the following:

Argument: Did the student make a strong and convincing argument thoroughly supported by data, observations, etc.?
Emic Perspective: How well did the student capture the native voice in answering their question?
Etic Perspective: How well did the student synthesize observations, data, etc. to answer the question from thier own perspective?
Self-Evaluation: How thoroughly did the student reflect on their own conclusions or ideas? What biases or missing information might have affected those conclusions?
Format: Did the student use appropriate grammar and follow all format guidelines?
