Provide specifics and also assess how revolutionary the American Revolution was.

3. In the immediate aftermath of the American Revolution, the United States dealt with a number of issues that made its prospects “not entirely promising” according to Eric Foner. Consider the events of the New Republic (1783-1815) and assess what the biggest issues facing the United States were and how leaders sought to resolve them.

4. Explain the causes of the Civil War by assessing what Lincoln meant when he said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand” and why that statement was such a concern for Southerners.
