For your Policy Project, you will develop a policy recommendation to address a specific crime problem

This project provides an opportunity for you to engage in the development of a criminal justice policy recommendation. You will develop a policy recommendation to address a specific crime problem (e.g., delinquency, drug trafficking, gun control, or terrorism) or criminal justice process (e.g., police response time, inmate reentry, sentencing, or correctional treatment programs). Your proposed policy recommendation should address the reduction and/or elimination of a specific criminal behavioral problem or criminal justice procedural issue. It should focus on the origin, intent, alternatives, criteria for success, implementation, potential results, and proposed assessment of the policy.
Part 1 of the Policy Project consists of the identification of a criminal justice policy issue and submission of an outline.
Develop an outline of your Policy Project as a PowerPoint presentation. Be sure to include a minimum of 12 slides, including at least one slide for each of the following:
Identification of a crime problem or process issue related to a criminal justice policy
Objective/intent of the policy recommendation
Bibliography of a minimum of five references to scholarly journal articles for
inclusion in the review of literature
o Note: You are encouraged to have more sources but you are only required to have five.
List of three possible alternative approaches to the crime problem or process issue and best practices (1 per slide)
Explanation of manifest and latent consequences of your policy recommendation
Proposed method for evaluation of the policy (e.g., observation, experiment,
survey, or official records)
