ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

• For this assignment, you will watch the film También la lluvia [Even the Rain] (2010) directed by Icíar

Bollaín and available on Netflix. This is a Spanish language film and contains adult themes and some scenes of violence.1

• After watching the movie, you will write a response. For your response, in Spanish, write a paragraph of twelve (12) to fifteen (15) sentences. Use the present tense and as much vocabulary from Spanish 101as possible to:

o describe the film’s setting and most important characters. o describe the plot. What happens in the film?
o tell me what you like and don’t like about the film.

• This assignment must be written entirely in the present tense.
• The Video Analysis is to be written in a Word Document, double spaced, 12-point font, Times New

Roman, 1-inch margins.

• This assignment is due Friday, March 26 at 11:59PM. You must turn in your essay to Blackboard, in the “Test, Exams, and Assessments” section.
• See notes below for information on using a dictionary to look up words for this assignment. NOTE:

All work submitted must be original work to the best of your ability without the use of tutors, Google Translate or other such aids/tools. Any unauthorized help will be considered both plagiarism and cheating because the work you turn in is not yours.

For this assignment, you will need to look up words in the dictionary. This is part of the learning process. However, you must only look up one word at a time using a dictionary, not an online translator (SpanishDict.com is an online translator and thus should NOT be used).

Do NOT attempt to employ tenses we have not yet covered in this class. Use the present tense, regular and stem-changing verbs, and gustar (in the present tense) to offer your descriptions of the film. Keep it simple and make an honest effort to be creative with the grammatical structures, expressions, and vocabulary you have learned thus far in the course.
