Paper topic should be a classical music live performance, concert or opera, ofunamplified music congruent with what Intro to Music students have been experiencing in their listening assignments.

View your classical concert or opera. Provide available details about the performance such as performers or groups involved, date, location, venue, etc. If it’s an orchestra then just identify the orchestra name, not the individual members, or even naming every instrument.

Identify the works that were performed in the concert by composer, work title, movements, performer’s name, etc., whatever is relevant. Do not use the word ‘song’, use ‘work’ or ‘piece’ or just use the genre name. If you view a concert, please don’t callit a ‘musical’.

Discuss some facts you observed about the performance. Your observations should be MOSTLY about the MUSIC, not just the way the performance looks, and not the long stories you imagine while listening (objective observations).

Discuss some of your opinions and unique perspectives (subjective observations). Again, please don’t tell me that it sounds like a cartoon or an old movie. Also please do not tell me anything like “I don’t listen to Classical Music”, “Classical Music is not really my thing”, etc.
