Weather Phenomena

You’re setting a quiz [question]!

Choose a weather phenomena that you’re interested in. It could be (but is not limited to)

thunderstorms, tropical cyclone, tornado, rainstorms, monsoonal storms, lenticular clouds, severe fog, temperature inversion, El Niño or La Niña (or both), or even cloud seeding. It can be anything to do with climate!

You can choose something outside of this realm if you wish, but these are just some good examples.

You’re to create your own quiz question (one question only) on this topic and provide a rubric that covers the knowledge requirement(s) you’re testing.

You can ask short answer, long answer or even mathematical/data questions. Or, if you want to

really get into it, a combination of them all.

The quiz question should take at least 10 minutes for someone to complete if they were taking it. However, the quiz must not exceed 30 minutes for anyone. So getting the right question(s) is super important.

You will provide the marking scheme/rubric as well. The marking scheme must show how to achieve at a nuanced level where appropriate. Mathematical questions will have full working showed on how to answer. In your rubric provide bullet points of exactly the things you’re looking for in the answers. Make sure you provide at least a chance to show nuance.

Helpful Hints:

You can draw on previous knowledge from any part of our course to relate a question to. For

example, you could use kinematics to show how fast a hailstone is falling (do not use this example, obviously, it’s only here as a guide), you could ask electricity questions on lightning for example, and clearly plenty of gas laws and thermodynamics. Don’t limit yourself to one topic alone, be as varied as possible. Show your knowledge that you have gained throughout the course.
