Exploring Oceania in Google Street View

Description

You have learned about the (1) landscapes (topography), (2) climate patterns, (3) demography (4) development and economy (5) political geography, (6) languages, (7) religions, and (8) cultures (other than language/religion)

For this assignment, please find one or more Google Street View imagery or Photospheres from Oceania that collectively illustrate TWO of these eight topics.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE IMAGES SHOULD BE IMMERSIVE IMAGES IN WHICH YOU CAN LOOK AROUND IN ALL DIRECTIONS, not static photographs. Here’s an example of Street View imagery: https://tinyurl.com/k96pabh9 (Links to an external site.) 

Here are some more specific instructions:

1) You can feature two separate Street Views or, if a single one illustrates two different topics, then just one.

2) You must include links (preferably from tinyurl.com) to your Street View images.

3) Write about what you see in the images and how it is illustrative of something you learned about one of those eight topics in Oceania. Back up your writing with some basic, researched facts from your textbook, the CIA World Factbook, or other reliable sources. Please include this data and at least one in-text citation for each topic. Briefly discuss the national and regional context of what you see in the images (how it reflects what is happening in the country in which the image comes from, and how it fits into broader regional patterns).

4) Write at least 150 words for each topic. Please clearly define what topics you are writing about, and please try to focus what you write about to be about that topic.

5) Do NOT use any of the same examples I used in my slides, or any that are very similar to those same examples. Not sure if your example is too close to mind? Don’t use it.

So, basically what I should see is one or two links to Street View Images, two paragraphs of at least 150 words each, each about a different topic, and each with at least one citation, and a brief, simple bibliography.
