Thanks RESEARCH QUESTIONS: (1) Our lives have been distorted to match the needs, products, and services of major media corporations. Dr. Strangelove claims that media industries (such as advertising, public relations, television, corporate and state-owned media) are significantly (but not entirely) responsible for the pathological condition of global civilization. Construct a model of the world which provides the context in which media industries operates by answering the following question: In YOUR opinion, what are the various pathologies (social ‘sickness’, such as gender inequality) that characterize global civilization? Contemplate them. Name them. Consider their scale/size/frequency. You need not create a comprehensive catalogue of the problems associated with global civilization, yet take some time to list the ones that YOU are aware of and consider their interrelationships (for example, economic pathologies that are connected to social pathologies). Now the following is very important: record how you feel about this. Our feelings about the big things (and little things) in our lives are often contradictory. Look for the contradictions in your feelings, take note of them, they are important data for your research project. This part of your report (your opinions, catalogue of pathologies, and your feelings) must be at least 400 words in length — take time, be thoughtful, be detailed. (2) Find or create a picture of something that reflects the pathology(s) of media industries. Include this picture in your written report. (3) REVISE your research question. Your research question should be about YOUR media-making habits and their relationship to media industries. YOU and your media-making habits must be the subject of your research question (me, mine, my, I — the first person singular — must be clearly stated in your research question). Include your REVISED research question in Weekly Project #2. This is the SECOND draft of your research question. You are not committed to your research question. You will be able to change your research question at any time this semester. A research question should not be more than one sentence long.
