Reflections should: 

1. Be personal (reflections are subjective, there are no right or wrong answers).
2. Be written in a proper academic tone (make sure to proofread!). 
3. Be one to two double spaced pages long. 
4. Be double spaced and written in Times New Roman point 12 font.
5. The minimum length is 1 double spaced page in 12 point Times New Roman font without including the prompt, your name, date, etc).
6. Discuss only 1 topic (you should choose only 1 of the optional prompts or topics for your reflection). 

Reflections should not:

1. Discuss any type of research on the topic (resist the urge to google!). 

Pre-Class Reflection OPTIONAL questions:

• OPTIONAL PROMPT #1: If there’s a baby in your life (whether it’s your own child, a niece/nephew, cousin, friend’s child, etc), how would you categorize their temperament (i.e., easy, difficult, or slow-to-warm-up). Why would you place them in that category?
• OPTIONAL PROMPT #2: Why do you think fathers are more likely to be “playmates” than mothers?
• OPTIONAL PROMPT #3: In your view, how can we best support mothers? If you were to create a program to help prevent depression or to help depressed mothers, what might you include?
• OPTIONAL PROMT #4: Ask your older family members whether they think you experienced the “terrible twos” or not. Do they have any anecdotes about your behavior during this period of your development to back up their opinion?
