Conduct your own research into the various play therapy approaches (Adlerian, Child-centered, Cognitive-behavioral, etc.). Which approach do you think will be the most effective in working with children experiencing grief and loss, children placed in foster care, and children who have been physically abused, sexually-abused or neglected? Your paper should include a summary of the specific approach, interventions/tools utilized in therapy, and how you see this particular approach being the most effective for this population. This paper involves critical thinking and requires you to take the knowledge you have gained so far and apply it clinically to a specific type of client. For example, what have you learned about trauma? Grief? What might be some of the presenting issues a child is dealing with as a result of these events and how will the approach you have selected address these issues?
