I'm working on a writing question and need guidance to help me learn.

There is so much going on in the world right now: the rise of hate crimes, COVID 19, recent mass shootings, questions surrounding student loans and the border situation, a brand new presidential administration. I know that some of these issues affect your lives and communities as well, and I want to give you the opportunity to write about something that you are passionate about. We will talk more about Essay 3 later on, but here, I want you to do a very simple brainstorm. 

How would you define "social justice"? (Don't look it up; just tell me what comes to mind. No wrong answers here!)

Is there anything related to social justice that you have seen on the news or social media that you have found concerning or that you found yourself invested in? What do you know about the issue? What do you want to know? Is it something that affects your life/community?

What social or economic problems do you see within your community?
