Relevant training and educational experiencesThis paper (4-5 double-spaced pages, 12 Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins) is designed to start to acquaint you with the real-life experience of professional helper in a field of specific interest to you. You are to identify and interview a helping professional who is working or has previously worked in a setting of interest. The disciplines can include a mental health counselor, social worker, psychology, psychiatrist, primary care physician, school adjustment counselor, or guidance counselor. If there is another category of professional helper that interests you please let me know who you intend to interview so that we can both be in agreement as to the relevancy of your nominee to the class. Key questions in the interview should include, but not necessarily be limited to:1) How the helper became interested in the field2) Relevant training and educational experiences3) Most rewarding and challenging aspects of the profession4) Ongoing continuing education efforts and expectations for training5) What the interviewee wished he or she had known about the profession prior to embarking on the career6) Advice for someone interested in pursuing such a career.A personal reflection about how the interview influenced you and what was of surprise to you is expected to follow your description of the interview.
