We often say that we love our friends, but that love is different than the love we have for our romantic partners. In 5-7 pages compare and contrast the concept of ‘friendship’ and the concept of ‘romantic love.’ In your Research Paper, you should address the following points (not necessarily in this order): 

1. Define ‘friendship’ and ‘love’. 2. Discuss theories of ‘friendship’ and theories of ‘love’. 3. Provide examples that support the theories of ‘friendship’ and the theories of ‘love’. 4. Explain the attributes and rules of friendship. 5. Describe how friendships differ across the life cycle. 6. Describe the types of love. PSY 3210, Close Relationships 2 7. Explain individual differences in love. 8. Compare and contrast the concept of ‘friendship’ and the concept of ‘love’. 

Be sure to also consider the following points in your paper: The introduction should engage the reader in the topic and provide a clear background and summary of the main points. The literature review should present a critical analysis and synthesis of the existing research with quoted materials used only when the specific wording is itself crucial to conveying an author’s point of view. Discussion should reveal insightful analysis of research. Organization should clearly present logically arranged points. Summary should include the premise, importance to the course and/or field, and how the information will be applied. Writing should be clear and concise with no spelling, grammatical or punctuation errors. 

The number of sources should meet or exceed any expressed assignment requirements and should be peer-reviewed or academic in nature. APA formatting guidelines should be used for reference entries and in-text citations. Your paper should have an introductory paragraph (about ½ page) and a conclusion paragraph (about ½ page). 

Your paper should be a minimum of 5-7 pages, double-spaced, using 12 point Times New Roman font. Graphs/charts/tables do not count as text. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including a title page, an abstract and in-text citations and references for all sources that are used.
