The independent variable of my PICOT question is that in my study I will be determining whether there is a difference in language proficiency between native speakers and non-natives, where I am using the percentage of each category in student performance on a mock job interview. The dependent variable in this case will be the score. That is why as we collect data we need to make sure that all variables are consistent with the purpose, objectives, and hypothesis of our study.

A simple, objective-oriented research study aimed at comparing the effect of green tea and coffee intake on risk factors related to chronic diseases. Independent variables were: age groups (40 years and above, 30-39 years and 19-29 years); gender; black/non-black race; income level; physical activity level; smoking status and alcohol consumption.

The research variables in this study were subjects’ names. They were chosen because they reflect the data that will be gathered. Before the study, we asked participants to provide their name, gender and age. It is not possible for us to do this for everyone who participated in our surveys so we use these variables as independent or dependent variables.

In the study, variable 1 is the behavioral response that refers to what a person does. Variable 2 is the contextual variable in this study that refers to the students’ age, gender and education level. This study was about the effects of educational background on home environment influence on student learning behavior and attitude towards teachers. The independent variable used in this study is age group where the participants are divided into three subgroups: 30 years old, 40 years old and 50 years old. The dependent variable that was examined in this study was Educational Attitude Questionnaire (EAQ) which is respondent’s score such as improvement behavior or willingness to learn based on students’ age group. This study shows that education played a role on improving how student feels about their learning at school.”
