I learned a great deal about research and writing. We covered different topics, I learned a lot. Now I’m able to link ideas and work on a project that I have in mind, but wasn’t sure how to proceed with. I now know what research is and how to find reliable sources on the internet. I’ve learned that the best way to write an expository paper is to start from the most simple concepts, and then build upon them with new information as you go along. I think the most important aspect from this class that I can take away is how academic research works. I am going to have to be careful now about researching and writing my thesis, because there is so much information about the process and all of its intricacies. But overall, it has given me a better understanding of how academia operates, which will hopefully help me in my future career as an academic. I have learned a lot about how to construct a research paper and writing clearly. I am also learning how to identify an important topic and finding the proper resources on the internet to help you with it. This class gave me a chance to learn in depth about both of these topics, as well as taking criticism from an instructor who has experience in both research and writing. This has been an interesting class that I would recommend to others!
