Choose a country of your choice (not Australia) and research the details of its health care system. The main area of focus should be:

What the role of Government is.

how the system is structured.

what the funding model is.

the makeup of the workforce; and

what the broad health system performance indicators are.

Prepare a 1500 word summarising your findings including some critical analysis of what your research uncovered. You may comment on how each component of the system is linked to the health system performance indicators or how it differs from the Australian system and suggest some reasons why these differences may exist.

A detailed report is presented including the 4 main health care system characteristics:
• Health system performance indicators (approximately 6 to give a good overview of the

system performance as a whole)
• The role of government
• Health care funding
• Health care workforce
The student demonstrates a clear understanding of the 4 system characteristics in the country of the student’s choice. As an addendum to the report, you are to design a poster that summarises the findings from your report. You should design the poster with the intent of it being used throughout the country you have researched as a tool/aid for new migrants to understand how the health care system works. Imagine it being used across hospitals, GP surgeries, public transport, etc. Please note:

Your poster should be visually appealing and include the main points from your summary/abstract, but at a very high level.

you may include pictures as well as text on your poster; and

the poster should be a single side but can be either portrait or landscape in

orientation.

Report Guidelines

Your report should follow the School of Public Health guide to assignment presentation, including a contents page, appropriate academic references (APA 7th edition), Student declaration and cover page, main title, introduction, subheadings and a conclusion. Remember to think critically and read widely. Do not forget to reference correctly and include a reference list to ensure academic integrity of your work!
