Part 2: Teaching Strategy and Learning Environment

As you continue to develop your education plan, it is time to narrow down your instructional method for each learner group. What teaching strategies are most appropriate for your nursing topic, the three learner groups (i.e., nursing students, nursing staff, and patient/caregiver), and their characteristics? In this Assignment, you will decide which strategy you will use and then explain why the selected teaching strategy/method is best to teach the learner group and meet the learning objectives. You will also consider the most appropriate face-to-face environment for teaching the lesson for each learner group.

To Prepare:

• From your work in Part 1, select an appropriate teaching strategy/method for each learner group related to your nursing topic. Note: One of your selected strategies must be simulation.
• Revise your learning objectives as needed based on Discussion feedback.

The Assignment (3 pages)

• Describe the learner groups and their learner characteristics.
• Identify three learning objectives for the lesson, one pertaining to each learner group.
• Explain why the teaching strategy/method you have selected for each learner group is the best to teach that group, keeping in mind the learner characteristics you selected in Module 1. Remember: One of your selected strategies must be simulation. Use the Learning Resources and/or best available evidence from current literature to support your explanation.
• Explain why the teaching strategy/method you have selected for each learner group is the best to meet the learning objective for that group. Use the Learning Resources and/or best available evidence from current literature to support your explanation.
• Identify and justify the most appropriate face-to-face learning environment in which the lesson will take place for each learner group. Use the Learning Resources and/or best available evidence from current literature to support your justification.
• The College of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references.
