Immigration and the American Dream

For my research paper I would like to examine the immigration process of Japanese-Americans as my first group and Mexican-Americans for my second. I decided to choose these two immigrant groups due to the similarities in discrimination they both have faced while trying to assimilate into American culture. Both groups have endured discrimination in addition to isolation measures driven by Presidents of the era. The American Dream varies depending on who you ask. However, I would define the American Dream as obtaining and living a life where there’s a stable and abundant income, a loving family, and the dream career one desires. These factors ideally would be the building blocks of the American Dream leading to a great quality of life, education, and generational wealth.
