Write a paper (6-7 PP.) that covers the major deeds of your chosen subject; what are his/her primary tokens; epithets; what is his/her story; birth origins; what are the major cult sites (i.e., where are the principal sanctuaries and temples for the character.) How does your chosen god-figure into Homers Iliad? Pick two pieces of art (sculpture, vase painting, coin, etc) and relate it to the divinitys story. Extra points for finding a story in art that contradicts the familiar stories of the god or goddess. Add your chosen images to your paper, but dont count the images as part of the print total for the paper. Use at least 5 sources; some of the more common websites include www.perseus.tufts.edu and theoi.com; perseus and theoi both give you substantial access to vase and site catalogues. References to Homer should be in book and line #, inserted into the text.

A good all-purpose reference to get started is the Oxford Classical Dictionary, available in the reference section of the library; plan to use at least one original source (a Greek or, sometimes, Roman author you may of course use a translation). Hyginus Fabulae, Apollonius Rhodius Library, and Pausanias Guide to Greece are all readily available online in English translation
