Requirements

Complete the below in the order outlined:

Watch the lectures and complete the set readings for the relevant unit theme: (i) political theory; (ii) political institutions; and (iii) political practice.
Log onto the discussion forum and write and post a 250-300 word discussion post that responds to the prompt.
Ensure that you cite at least two of the relevant unit theme set readings in your discussion post.
In addition to the two set readings, you may also cite lecture materials, more set readings, or the recommended readings from the relevant unit theme weeks.
Do not cite anything else – only the set class materials from the relevant unit theme are required for the discussion posts and no extra credit will be awarded for additional research.
In addition to posting to the discussion forum, you need to submit your post for grading to Turnitin. Correctly cite all your materials, provide a reference list at the end (following a style guide of your choosing from the library) and submit the doc to the Turnitin dropbox on Canvas for grading.

You are encouraged to respond to other student posts on the discussion forum in order to foster dialogue and peer learning. These response posts will not be graded. Pass: These posts will satisfactorily meet the requirements and will demonstrate satisfactory knowledge and comprehension. There may be gaps in knowledge and comprehension; knowledge and comprehension may be surface level or unsophisticated; or some requirements may have been missed.

Credit: These posts will admirably meet the requirements and will demonstrate good knowledge and comprehension. These posts may have engaged with more than two set readings; and will demonstrate the beginnings of critical and deeper knowledge and comprehension.

Distinction: These posts will admirably meet the requirements and will demonstrate very good knowledge and comprehension. These posts will likely have engaged with more than two set readings; will demonstrate very good critical and evaluative knowledge and comprehension; and will demonstrate the beginnings of synthesis of materials to say something new or insightful.

High distinction: These posts will admirably meet the requirements and will demonstrate excellent knowledge and comprehension. These posts will have engaged with more than two set readings; will demonstrate excellent and sophisticated critical and evaluative knowledge and comprehension; and will demonstrate synthesis of materials to say something new or insightful.
