You are create a written proposal for a viable web-based business within our industry. The proposal must be concise, yet in-depth, utilizing the business principles discussed in the course. This proposal must be for a web-based business, no physical or brick and mortar plans will be accepted. If this is your desire I encourage you to use this project to create a platform that will allow you to create notoriety for yourself, so if you do decide to open a physical business one day you will not have to worry about a cold opening. Your idea must also fall within your current scope-of-practice, meaning no medically based businesses, please adhere to fitness/wellness ideas.

Your paper must be concise and factual; you must provide references that support your ideas. These references do not have to come from peer-reviewed journals but use your best judgement on what is factual and what cannot be verified. To give you structure in your paper you must follow APA guidelines. You can find those guidelines here:

This paper should be a minimum of six pages but no more than eight pages of project related writing (the page requirement does not include things like the cover page, references, or appendices). Your paper must include a cover page, table of contents, and references all in APA formatting. This includes your paper being double-spaced, 12pt New Times Roman Font, with appropriate headings and subheadings. Please review the APA sample paper within the project module if you are unfamiliar with this. You are also encouraged to see the instructor during office hours or go to the FAU writing center if you have further questions. Additionally, your project must include one professional looking table and one professional looking graph. These can easily be made within Microsoft Word.

As for content, your paper should begin with a general synopsis of your idea and why you believe it to be viable. You will then answer every question in table 2.3 (pg. 68) of your textbook. You are to answer these in a section of your paper without writing the questions, meaning you must answer each question without directly restating it. Your answers have to be detailed and justified by research. For example, you could not say, “the market for premade meals is huge.” You would have to give me a number and explain with references how you got there. You will have to do a good amount of web searches for this project. Rest assured you could never pitch investors with words like huge or plentiful. Watch any shark tank episode and they will want numbers!

You will then have to perform a SWOT analysis on your idea. Remember, this is to be done with an industry and consumer perspective, not from an exercise science perspective; we are not selling to ourselves. As part of the analysis, you will explain how you will turn threats into opportunities and weaknesses into strengths. You will then detail how you will scale your business and end your paper with a conclusion.

You will be graded on overall quality, the validity of your idea (did you prove it viable), the correct application of course material, and APA formatting. There will be no “throwing in the towel” on this assignment. Low quality, incorrect, or overall poorly done papers will be given a zero and sent back to you for revisions.
