Switzerland

It is a Powerpoint assignment , and need 16-20 pages.

Choose a product or service that you believe could be successfully marketed in Switzerland (not one that could be exported from there). (If you were pessimistic about business prospects there, for the purposes of this assignment pick a product or service that would have the best chance of doing well.) If you want to choose a product that is already well established in Switzerland, you should provide a good reason why you think you can compete. You may pick an actual branded product or service or one that you make up. Show some creativity, so do not select an item for which there is already a case study, or one that is already well-known and doing well locally.

Develop a PowerPoint type presentation with 16 to 20 slides – not including any initial slide showing Contents or final slide showing References.

Your presentation should have three parts and a conclusion. The first two parts should take account of any comments you received on the briefs you wrote earlier on these topics.
Key points, only, on the culture of Switzerland. (A complete summary is not needed. (4 to 5 slides.)
Key points from your brief on the politics and economy of Switzerland. (5 to 6 slides.)
The management approach for your chosen product. (7 to 9 slides.)
Your management approach should be based on what you have learned from the readings and material from Module 6 and refer specifically to Switzerland and your proposed product or service. Do not simply mention generic marketing considerations. Cover at least the following points, which include all four marketing Ps:
Why do you think your chosen product or service will sell?
What adaptation to conditions or preferences will your product or service require, if any? Explain.
What local distribution channels will you use?
What approach will you employ in promoting your product or service, and why? What will your promotional message be? (Relate this message to why you think your product or service will sell.)
What considerations will affect the pricing of your product or service, and why? How will your prices compare with those of any competitors?
End with a slide showing a conclusion and any recommendations.
Formatting slides

Give your slides visual appeal. A third of the points for the Presentation depend on this.
Bulleted points should convey the specific information about the point you want to make while also being brief to the point of being terse. Getting this balance right takes some thought.
Credit is given for graphics: photos and charts or tables that are relevant to Switzerland and the topic of the slide. Note: little or no credit is given for generic clip art.
When you include tables or charts, be clear what inference your audience should draw from them. Don’t just drop them in and leave your audience to figure out why they are there.
Do not:
Attach supplementary notes to your slides. A printout of your slides alone should amount to a good summary of what you want to say
Add sound or animated transitions between slides. Hold your audience’s attention with interesting material and good graphics..
Keep total file size down. PowerPoint file sizes can quickly become bloated, because graphics can take a lot of memory, and BlackBoard does not handle very large file sizes well.

I attach some essay that I wrote before, it will be used for this Powerpoint.

The Current Economic and Political Environment of Switzerland

Political Analysis

The person who holds the key position in the government in Switzerland is Simonetta Sommaruga who has held the presidency seat for two terms from 2015. The president is assisted by the vice president Guy Parmelin who assists in the performance of duties and responsibilities. Switzerland president, Simonetta Sommarung heads the president departments, which is the federal department of the environment, transport, energy and communication. The vice president, on the other hand, heads the federal department of economic affairs, education and research. Simonetta pursues his responsibilities in assistance of the services of the presidential service unit, which guides his responsibilities by planning the presidential year. The presidential service unit was established by the parliamentary decision found on the Government and Administration Act. The presidential service unit helps the president put together the services provided in the presidential year, and plan for extra tasks. It acts as an advisor on foreign policies that help in-state developmental (Bochsler et al., 2016).

Simonetta Sommaruga was elected by Social Democratic party which has dominated the politics in Switzerland since it was formed in 1988. Yet, it is still the leading political parties in Switzerland. The party is a dominating political party because it is left with the federal council representatives. The social democratic party is a progressive alliance made of pro-European members which are vehemently opposed to capitalism. The main objective of the social democratic party has a long-lasting goal of overcoming capitalism in the state. In economic liberalization of capitalism in the state, the Social Democratic party denies economic policies of deregulation, lowering of taxes too high-income earners and decrease of government spending on social insurance. The social democratic party campaigns for social equality and open society where everyone is equal before the law and ensuring equal redistribution of wealth by not favouring other fields such as maternity sectorial services (Frech et al., 2020).

The key challenges facing the government of Switzerland is party polarization, administration issues in the government and policy implementation and prioritization. The government of Switzerland has a lot of political parties with varying political objectives and goals. Most of the parties wish to get represented in the state government, which is not possible since Switzerland is a partially democratic state.  Some of the parties in Switzerland include the Swiss people’s party and Legal on the right. Social democrats, Greens, and Swiss party of Labor are on the left polar. The parties have varying goals and objectives with different leaders competing for their fulfilment of the party’s goals. Recently, most of the party members have shifted from either left or right, creating leadership and party conflicts in the government because of misunderstandings. The constant conflicts in the government have created challenges in policy implementation in the state hindering the implementation of developmental projects (Frech et al., 2020).

The government of Switzerland moreover, experiences challenges of leadership and administration. The parties in the government advocate for different policies that require the government to oversee it because it is a democratic state. Since Switzerland is a democratic state, it has to be fair in policy implementation and meeting the desires of the citizens and better their lives and that of the whole state. The government has created a lot of departments like that of transport, environment and economic among others which requires the government to choose its leaders either through election or nomination. The creation of different departments has led to power struggles in the government which has created misunderstandings and conflicts implementing the set goals and objectives regarding the situation of the state difficult (Azarova et al., 2019).

The government of Switzerland has many competing plans according to the plans from the presidential service unit, which advises the government of different issues and policy implementations. The presidential service unit outlines the developmental plans of the state, which at a time is competing and prioritizing the projects is quite tricky. Mismanagement of the funds in the state by its leaders has further hindered implementation of the developmental projects. The leadership wrangles in the government have caused administrative problems which is the main hindrance of implementing the state developmental plans and projects (Azarova et al., 2019).

The challenges that the government of Switzerland faces is hard to solve because of its democratic state and the change in the current state situation. Switzerland is a partially democratic state, and therefore, it requires the formation of various political parties, some acting as a check of balance and watchdog of the state. The government, therefore, has to allow the citizens to be represented in the government by appointing several leaders through various political parties. If the government gives freedom to the citizens to form political parties, the challenge of leadership struggles and polarization of the political parties can never be sorted out. Leadership wrangles in the state results in mismanagement of the public funds and poor administration of the state affairs and hence, the implementation of the state goals and objectives are not achieved (Ingold et al., 2019). Denial of rights and freedoms regarding politics means the denial of democracy which causes conflicts in the state.

Moreover, there are drastic changes in the state following the current situation of the fall of the economy and natural pandemics in the state.  Some of the natural pandemics which have negatively impacted on the economy include the current pandemic of Covid 19. The spread of Covid 19 means that the government has to revise its current and plans contrary to the initial plan of the presidential service unit ((Ingold et al., 2019). The change in plans confuses various departments making the implementation of its developmental projects difficult. Therefore, it is challenging to deal with the state issue of implementation of the set goals and objectives. However, it can be easier dealing with them if the government establishes a strong leadership base; water down the political parties prejudices and establishes unity for purposes by building a robust political system to achieve its goals and objectives with little challenges shortly.

Denmark 1
Finland 2
Switzerland 3
Sweden 4

In Switzerland, there is the practice of direct democracy where citizens have the freedom to directly challenge the law, unlike other nations where they practice indirect democracy. Voters have a right to elect their leaders, and also the vote for the referendum. Hence, two elections are done four times in a year (Dingerkus et al., 2016). Therefore, Switzerland citizens practice their right of voting and free elections. The freedom house has ranked Switzerland as the third least corrupt country in the whole world, but it is ranked the most corrupt country in the banking field because it hosts many banking industries; hence, citizens have the freedom to manufacture its own money. Freedom House has ranked Switzerland has the least country in terms of corruption because the policies established to combat and prevent corruption has been significant; however, it is difficult to combat corruption in the financial sector. Switzerland has established different bodies, specifically for combating corruption, making it practical to prevent corruption.

Economic Analysis

Switzerland economic indicators indicate that the economic history of the state has been promising but then the current indicators indicate that the current and future economic situation is not promising (Rinaldi et al., 2020). For instance, Coronavirus has negatively impacted families and working classes where most people have lost jobs, leaving them unemployed. Most of the industries have been shut down; hence, many people do have reduced income per capita, and the real household income has reduced, leaving the country in a hopeless state. The potentiality of the economy is that the country is going down economically and the situation is compounded by the rampant economic corruption where people print and manufacture their own money as a significant contribution to the growth of the banking industry (Hodel et al., 2020).

In my perspective, the economy of Switzerland is not promising because of inadequate state leadership and political management, and the rampant rate of corruption in the economic sector majorly the finance sector. The county is in a hopeless state following the negative impact of the current pandemic of Corona Virus. Due to the pandemic, many people have lost their jobs, causing the high poverty rate in the country. The pandemic is still spreading at a high rate which has led to the closure of different sectors of the economy. It is difficult for the World health organization to contain the pandemic, and if it has to continue this way, the country will experience economic depression (Blank et al., 2017).

The most attractive economic sector of Switzerland is the financial sectors and other industries. The country is ranked the best in terms of job availability and job securities (Magazzino et al., 2020). The economy of Switzerland historically and currently is promising, unlike other countries. In the country, industries progressively expand and grow, leading to the creation of job opportunities for many people reducing the poverty rate in the country (Bruchez, 2019). When employers employ their employees, the employers try their best to retain their employers to prevent employee’s turnover and strive for more profits. Therefore, with the reduction of employee turnover, most of the employees are assured of the job security, making the field to be more attractive than other sectors.

Conclusion

Switzerland, despite the current state situation, is still considered one of the stable countries in terms of its economic status. As most countries worldwide strive to boost their economies due to a forecast of economic depressions, the country is still strong, and the chances of economic depression are relatively low because of the availability of finances. The country has financial sources from the many banking industries; hence, finances are not a problem because they can easily access the finances for developing the various industries and funding of government projects. Some of the indicators of the economic sector of the country are the income per capita, the employment rates of the state and the current pandemics. Some of the indicators is challenging in controlling them, such as the Covid 19 pandemic while others can easily be managed, such as the case of the high rate of unemployment.
