Your essay should use these sites to explain the social, economic, cultural, and/or political history (as many as apply) of the New Deal. These kinds of questions will get you started: what was the history of the agency that created the site, what was the purpose of the site, who did it help (then and since), who did it not help or exclude, and what does that site say about the strategy, design, and realization of the New Deal overall? Make sure that your essay is guided by a unified, coherent, overarching argument (that is, not simply your main points about each site). I want an argument about what the New Deal was, using these sites as focal points for interpretation and explication.

You must support your essay with evidence drawn from course lectures and readings. You must quote our textbook (Smith, Concise History of the New Deal) at least three times. Each paragraph must have citation references to the Smith book, at least one of my lectures, and a primary source
