Assignment #6 is based on readings from our Art 1500 Introduction to Digital Art, 3rd edition eBook. The focus of this assignment is Chapter #6 Contemporary Creative Practice in Digital Art and Design; and Artist Interviews #7 (Gopakumar Ra) and #12 (Utsab Chatterjee)

Directions

First, read both Chapter 6 and Artist Interviews 7 & 12. I would suggest that you make notes as you read them.

NOTE – The instructor has provided PDF files presenting the key points from the text for review and guidance.

Second: Below are questions for the chapter which should be used as a guide for review:

6-1. Using the textbook and (especially) the supplemental links provided, select THREE of the projects or exhibitions (one for each entity) undertaken by the following three entities: ACM SIGGRAPH Digital Arts Community (DAC); Mori Building Digital Art Museum: teamLab Borderless; and Ars Electronica Center (AEC) – (NOTE – select just ONE project/exhibition for each of the three entities) the first section of your essay should describe each project and briefly address specifically what you find significant about the three projects or exhibitions you selected.
6-2. Using the textbook and the supplemental links provided – what is your opinion of buying/selling/owning/collecting digital art via NFTs?

Third, please chose ONE of the specified “Artist Interviews” and comment on the artist’s artistic process (how they go about creating their work). Yes, you may comment on both interviews if you wish. Please be careful to specify the artist(s) reviewed. : – Choose one: #7 (Gopakumar Ra) and #12 (Utsab Chatterjee)

Last, given your reading and note taking on Chapter 6, and the Interviews 7 & 12 please compose an essay of at least 750 words that addresses your responses to the questions above. Please include responses to all questions. Do not allow your response to exceed 1500 words.
