Purpose:Toresearchatopicrelatedtoconstructionmaterialstesting.Thestudentsshoulddevelopareportusingthelaboratoryreportformatasaguideline,inconjunctionwiththemodifiedsectionsbelow.Thebodyofthereportshouldbe5-8pagesandupto10-15pagesincludingthecoverpage,tableofcontents,bibliography,appendixect.Thereportwillbedueonthelastdayofclassalongwithastudentpresentation(viawebex).Thereportshouldincludetheoreticaldesigncalculations,andadiscussionofhowthematerial(s)wouldbetestedandinspectedduringthedesign,fabrication,orconstructionprocess.Inadditiontothereport,studentswillbegivinga5minutepresentationabouttheirresearchtopictotheclass.Thestudentswillsharetheircomputerscreenviawebexfortheirpresentation.Additionally,studentswillsubmitaone-pageproposal,oneweekfromnow,discussing their research.
